COLD BLOOD: Fatal Fables

So, I recently got some good news!

Jaffa Books has accepted my collection of short stories that take place in the Aesop’s World setting. Aesop’s World is the furry setting that mirrors our own in some ways but adds religions that one wouldn’t find on a world with just one species. Continue reading

The Bees by Laline Paull

I greatly enjoyed this furry novel about bees.

I was surprisingly impressed by the framing sequence also; which actually had me a little misty eyed. But then the whole world within the frame was a full epic adventure of struggle of Flora 717 who found reason to love at every turn, despite having secrets that should break many of her people. It set me up for those few happy tears.

Work In Progress 11/19/2016

This weekend, I am working on my first publisher interview for Underground Book Reviews. My target subject is Brian Kaufman of Dark Silo Press, a Colorado based micro-publisher of supernatural horror. Last year, I had approached Brian for advice about my unpublished book, The Goat. He suggested some small elements, as well as a good grammar scrub, but other than that he was quite enthusiastic that I should start submitting the book. Continue reading

Some News Bits

My book, The Goat, got announced on the Queer Sci Fi Blog. There’s a wonderful chance of winning a copy of Roar 7 by leaving a comment on the page. There’s currently only one eligible comment, some odds look good!

I sold a story to be in an upcoming anthology from Thurston Howl Publishing. “Seven Deadly Sins, Furry Confessions” takes a look at the seven deadly sins from several different angles.

Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, & Pride

The other writers appearing in the book are:

NightEyes DaySpring
BanWynn Oakshadow
Avin Telfer
J. Noelle
T. Thomas Abernathy
Evelyn Proctor
Tristan Black Wolf
TJ Minde
Bill “Greyflank” Kieffer
Billy Leigh
Searska Grey Raven
Rayah James

My own story tackles SLOTH, although it has a touch of greed to it, too. In it, Sladek awakens exhausted  after a weekend of magic fueled sex with one of his two masters. The story deals with the fate of his other master… and the body.

I hope you’ll look for it when it comes out in 2017.

Flash Fiction

I don’t often write flash fiction, but today, I felt inspired.

Trump 1
by Bill Kieffer

“Hello, Solution Industrial Ovens. How can I help you.”

“Yes, we sell all sorts of ovens, including custom walk in and automated cooking chambers for bakeries and mass production…”

“I’m sorry, Mr President… How many ovens did you want to order?”
